Shlomo Zalman Hahassid

## Summary

- Born: around 1695, Vilna
- Died: 25 December 1758, Vilna
- Married: 1718, Vilna, to Treina

## Family

- Married: Treina Ginzberg — https://smud.mateosmud.xyz/en/people/treina-ginzberg/
- Children: Eliyahu ben Shlomo Zalman — https://smud.mateosmud.xyz/en/people/gaon-de-vilna/

## What is known

The Gaon is the name that gives him his place in Jewish history, but his father was already a known Talmud scholar in Vilna, descended from the city's rabbis.

This is as far as the tree goes with attached sources. The collaborative tree continues higher —Shlomo Zalman's father, his grandfather Eliyahu “the Hasid”, and a Moshe Kremer born around 1590—, but none of those profiles carries a source, and so they are not in this tree.
