# Yosef HaLevy

**Evidence status: documented.** The oldest ancestor of the paternal Komisaruk line in Chaim Freedman's reconstruction.

c. 1695 – before 1765 · Father of Meir Joselowicz Halevy

## Summary

- Born: around 1695, Lithuania
- Died: before 1765, Lithuania

## Family

- Children: Meir Joselowicz Halevy — https://smud.mateosmud.xyz/en/people/meir-joselowicz-halevy/

## What is known

This is where, for now, the line going up through Khana Reizel's father ends: Dov-Ber, his father David Komisaruk, David's father Meir, and Meir's father Yosef. Meir's patronymic —Joselowicz, “son of Yosef”— is consistent with the name.

The date is an estimate: what survives from this generation is the name and the order, not a record.
