A port on the Sea of Azov with an active Jewish community. Felix and Malke married there around 1896, the family lived there, and Alejandro and Aida were born there.

## What is known

Berdyansk was a port on the Sea of Azov, with an active Jewish community and a great deal of trade. Malke and Felix met there and married around 1896.

The family lived there and the children were born there: Alejandro in March 1897 and Eide —Aida— in the last week of July 1904. Malke left Berdyansk with the three of them in early August 1904, bound for the port of Bremen.

In Chaim Freedman's reconstruction, Koppel's son Yerakhmiel Falik is also listed as being from Berdyansk: a soldier and a butcher. He is Felix.
