Felix was not an only child. Koppel and Dvorka had several children, and we have their names:
- Moshe
- Pesach
- Hinda Ana
- Manyik, also called Alexander
- Tybel
- Yerakhmiel Falik, that is, Felix
For several of them dates and descendants are known, and are recorded in online family trees. They are not detailed here so as not to lose the thread of the main story, but anyone who wants to follow those branches can do so.
Those who also left
One thing is worth saying: Felix was not the only one who left. In the early twentieth century several members of the Smud family —brothers and cousins— emigrated to Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Argentina. Within Argentina they spread across Buenos Aires, Rivera in Buenos Aires province, La Plata, Rosario, Mendoza and Entre Ríos.
That is why there are people named Zmood in Melbourne and Smud in Entre Ríos today who descend from the same grandparents in Ludza. Much of what we know about the older generations, in fact, was preserved thanks to the Australian branch.
