Everything on this site also exists in formats a machine can read without parsing HTML. It is in the public domain: it can be copied, cited and reused without asking permission.

Any page of this site can be requested in Markdown by adding .md to the address. Felix Smud's entry is at /en/people/felix-smud/ and its plain-text version at /en/people/felix-smud.md.
Every HTML page also declares it in its head, with <link rel="alternate" type="text/markdown">, so an agent does not need to guess the convention.
How to read the status of each item
This is the one convention you need to know to use the data without misreading it. Every person and every source has a field status:
documented- A census, a synagogue register, a gravestone or an immigration record supports it.
traditional·unverified- It comes from family trees published online or from collaborative trees with no sources attached. Nobody has documented it yet.
family- It comes from family memory, typed in October 1996.
pending- A located document, with a known archival reference, not yet consulted.
Surname variants have their own status: “documented” if the form is written in a dated document of this research, “registered” if it exists but no document of this research shows it.
Dates use GEDCOM format —ABT 1838, 25 JAN 1899, BET 1860 AND 1868— and, when the exact day is known, ISO 8601 as well.
