Son of Eliyahu ben Shlomo Zalman and father of Esther Leib. He is the link between the Vilna Gaon and this family, and the best documented person in the whole branch.

He is the person on whom the whole claim rests. If Yehuda Leib is the Gaon’s son and Esther Leib’s father, then the Vilna Gaon is Khana Reizel’s great-grandfather, and the line of descent reaches this family.
