Khana Reizel's father, according to Freedman
Dov-Ber (Berel) Komisaruk
Son of David Komisaruk and husband of Ester, a granddaughter of the Vilna Gaon. According to Chaim Freedman's reconstruction he is the father of Khana Reizel, David Zmud's wife, but that relationship is not documented.

In his earlier books Freedman had called him Velvel, and that is how he appears in the collaborative tree, as Zev Velvel Berel, with the dates 1785 and 1834. In the February 2020 update Freedman corrects the name: nineteenth-century records call him Berel, most probably Dov-Ber, and his wife was named Ester. He appears in the 1784 census of Girtegola as a son of David, in the 1816 revision list of Rassein and in an 1846 tax list noting that he had died in 1843.
According to Freedman, his children were Shlomo-Zalmen Komisaruk, Khana Reizel, David Zmud’s wife, and a daughter married to Aron-Moshe Grinblat. That Shlomo-Zalmen was his son is established by the archives; the other two are Freedman’s proposal, based on the oral tradition of the three families. That is why the link between the Komisaruks and the Zhmoods, and through them with the Gaon, remains a hypothesis.
